I created this blog to share my daily struggle to come up with nutritious and still tasteful delights for my kids. I have a soon to be 4 year old son and a 7 month old daughter. I will be honest and admit that I have more than my share of lazy days and feed my son (organic) chicken nuggets or chicken meatballs from Costco. I have fed my daughter solids for 3 months now and unlike with my son I make them myself since I feel like I (somehow) have more energy this time around.

I graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City back in 2006 and went straight to work at Le Bernardin. I love working in a restaurant but I do not even expect to make the same kind of food at home. I focus on easiness and taste, not so much on looks as I would at a 3 michelin star restaurant. Also it has to be affordable for our family. Still I couldn’t make the food I make without the experience in restaurants.

I am staying at home now and worked at a restaurant in Finland the past summer. We visit there every summer because that’s were the rest of my family and friends  are. I moved to New Jersey 9 years ago from Finland and now we live in New York.

I will blog about the foods I make for my daughter because that’s what I invest on the most at this time and the rest of us are kind of in the back burner. Sometimes I will show off things from the back burner if something of interest has come up. And I will point out that don’t expect me to have this perfect food blog with perfect pictures and recipes. I honestly don’t know what this blog will look like yet….But I hope it will be interesting.
